Individual DBT therapy

Weekly or fortnightly sessions with one therapist who knows your history — not a rotating cast, and not a model chosen because it’s the only one on offer.

Length

50 minutes

Rhythm

Weekly or Fortnightly

Where

In person or online

Fee

£120

You may have heard about DBT as being helpful for those who struggle with managing their emotions. This can be offered as part of the DBT full programme or stand alone. The focus in these sessions is using DBT skills to regulate emotions and change behaviours.

We often contract around a module at a time or we may be more open-ended – it depends on what we together think that you need as well as acknowledging that this may change over time.

THIS IS OFTEN A GOOD FIT IF

You have difficulty regulating your emotions

You have difficulty in your relationships with others

You don't want to learn the DBT skills in a group format

You do want to learn more skilful ways of managing distress.

How it runs

Free call

Twenty minutes to check the fit and agree who you'd work with.

First two sessions

Getting the history and building a shared picture of what's going on. Start the module and review towards the end

The work

Weekly or twice weekly with a review at the mid point and towards the end to ensure you are on track with what you’re hoping to get from the therapy

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a specific form of trauma therapy that can help the brain process experiences that still feel emotionally or physically ‘stuck’.

Graduate programme

We run a graduate programme every week, an opportunity to have that back up after an intensive piece of therapy has finished so to. Because finishing therapy doesn’t mean you stop being human.

Individual therapy

One-to-one work with a senior clinician, matched to you rather than to whoever has a gap. We agree the approach together on the first call and review it as we go.

Full DBT programme

The complete, adherent DBT model: weekly individual therapy, a skills group, between-session phone coaching and a consult team behind your therapist. Run in intakes so groups start together.

DBT-Informed Groups

Skills-only groups for people who want the practical tools - distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness - without the full commitment.

Trauma therapy, including EMDR

For single-incident trauma and for the longer, more tangled kind. Paced carefully, with stabilisation first - we won't rush you into processing before you're ready.

Neurodivergent-Informed Therapy

Every therapist here adapts as standard: sensory needs, processing time, written summaries, sessions can be recorded to be reviewed afterwards, walking sessions. You shouldn't have to mask to get therapy.

Family & parent work

Support for the people around someone who's struggling - including parents of teenagers, and DBT skills for families.
